Video: Korean vlogger harassed by stranger while filming in Indian streets

A South Korean travel vlogger was harassed by a stranger while she was filming a video in the Indian city of Pune.
Caught on camera: The YouTuber, known by her handle “Kelly,” recently posted a video that captured the shocking moment when a man persisted in touching her as she was interacting with locals in a Pune market.
In the video, she can be seen suddenly surrounded by men who want to pose for a picture. One of the men abruptly put his arm around her neck, prompting her to swiftly retreat, expressing discomfort and confusion about the incident.
“I have to run from here… They really like to hug,” she can be heard saying as she walks away.
Actions of the few: Despite the troubling encounter, Kelly reminded viewers at the start of her video not to judge Indians based on the actions of a few individuals. She shared her observations about the cleanliness of the area and the friendliness of many locals.
Netizens react: The video, uploaded on Dec. 12, has been viewed over 917,000 times and accumulated over 7,400 comments from users who mostly condemned the actions of the harasser and expressed support for the victim.
“As an Indian we’re really sorry for his behaviour😢” a commenter wrote. “Lot of love from India 🇮🇳 stay safe.”
“Hii Kelly. Please stay away from this type of stranger,” commented another. “As an Indian, I’m sorry on behalf of this last guy.”
“Kelly be safe,” chimed in another. “Don’t get close to strangers…it’s dangerous… don’t be much [sic] friendly with others or say hello to everyone please.”
Police response: The uncomfortable incident, which happened in Ravet, drew the attention of local authorities after going viral on social media, reported The Indian Express.
On Dec. 19, the Pimpri-Chinchwad City Police reportedly arrested the alleged harasser, as confirmed by Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey. According to Choubey, a first information report would be registered against the suspect.
