Watch: Ke Huy Quan surprises Harrison Ford at ‘Indiana Jones’ movie premiere
By Bryan Ke
Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford recently reunited again at the Los Angeles premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” possibly the last installment of the film franchise that first introduced them to each other over 40 years ago.
Another reunion: The 51-year-old Oscar winner surprised his 80-year-old “Temple of Doom” co-star as he was being interviewed by “Extra TV” on the red carpet during the premiere at the Dolby Theater on Wednesday.
What they said: During the interview, Ford told “Extra TV” he has nothing but “great love and admiration” for Quan.
Meanwhile, the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” star said that he fell in love with acting because of Ford, noting that he had “such a wonderful, wonderful experience on ‘Temple of Doom’” because of him.
“I’m so happy for him, I can’t tell you. He’s a wonderful person and an incredibly talented actor,” Ford told Extra TV after Quan left.
What social media is saying: Several Twitter users found the interaction heartwarming and wholesome, with one user writing, “Brilliant you can really see the love between them.”
“The way he says ‘you’re all grown up,’” another user commented. “Aghh love their love interaction! Can’t wait to see Dial of Destiny soon!”
A reunion of sorts: Besides Ford and Quan, other notable attendees included Steven Spielberg, the director of the first four “Indiana Jones” movies; George Lucas, the creator of “Indiana Jones”; and John Williams, the film franchise’s composer.
Next projects: After appearing in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Quan was tapped for a recurring role in the Disney+ series “American Born Chinese.” He is also set to appear alongside Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson in Marvel’s “Loki” Season 2.
“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” is set to hit theaters on June 30.
