K-pop boy group Seventeen announces collaboration with Apple for their first English-language single
Apple will kick off its latest and largest retail outlet in South Korea with their first-ever “Today At Apple” K-pop collaboration with boyband Seventeen.
The tech giant is set to launch the Apple Myeongdong retail store in central Seoul on April 9. The location will also serve as a stage for South Korean artists to celebrate contemporary Korean culture.
To celebrate the opening of Apple Myeongdong, the first “Today At Apple” session on April 15 will highlight Seventeen’s first English-language single, “Darl+ing.” The song will be pre-released ahead of the band’s full-length album.
The event will feature a 60-minute “Music Lab: Seventeen Remix” video session, wherein members of Seventeen will teach visitors how to create music using Apple’s software GarageBand. Fans and visitors will have the opportunity to learn about Seventeen’s creative process as well as explore their own creativity by remixing the track through the Apple app.
“We are so excited to see what remixes fans come up with,” member Seungkwan said during a press conference at Apple Myeongdong. “We have used GarageBand since our trainee years to practice how to produce music ourselves. I think that experience is what enabled us to become the ‘self-producing idol’ we are today.”
“I hope fans can feel like making music is an experience we can share,” member Woozi said. “We demonstrated using the app the exact same way we normally do, so that fans can see exactly what creation experience we go through.”
The session is also set to launch in Apple stores across Asia in May.
