Joel Kim Booster to write, produce rom-com film about wedding gone wrong

Joel Kim Booster is working with Searchlight Studios once again for “Again Again Again,” a romantic comedy film about a wedding gone wrong.
About the project: “Again Again Again” follows Gus, who is tasked as a man of honor to ensure that everything goes well in his friend Maggie’s wedding at a Napa winery, according to Deadline. Things take a chaotic turn, however, when his wildly charismatic but emotionally unstable boyfriend Hal crashes the party.
What he’s saying: Booster, who worked with Searchlight Studios for “Fire Island,” shared the news on Instagram on Thursday. “Hope y’all don’t mind but I’m gonna make your new favorite movie,” he noted.
Who’s involved: Aside from Booster, Lulu Wang and Daniele Tate Melia, who co-produced A24’s “The Farewell,” are on board to co-produce. Vice President of Production Richard Ruiz and Manager of Creative Affairs Daniel Yu will oversee the project for Searchlight.
In the meantime: Booster recently teased that the second season of Apple TV Plus comedy “Loot,” in which he stars with Maya Rudolph, will be a “much more joke-dense season.” He told The Wrap, “We know our voices and the kinds of jokes we can make, and so it’s much faster and funnier.”
Booster is also among the list of comedians set to perform in Netflix’s 2024 “Netflix is a Joke” festival, which will run from May 2 to May 12.
