Jeremy Lin Approves of Jeremy Lin 2.0
By Carl Samson
Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin has expressed admiration and support for a young basketball player who, to everybody’s surprise, shares his name!
Jeremy Lin, 14, made it to the headlines after flaunting his skills at the 2017 Ballislife Jr. All-American Camp hosted by Adidas Hoops.
According to Ballislife, Lin landed a spot in the camp’s top 25 game after impressing them with “his range and his passing abilities.”
NBA’s Lin apparently heard of the news, and in a tweet on Thursday, cheered for his namesake:
“Oh btw this might be the coolest thing ever!! Keep killin young fella! #asiancanhoop”
Amused at the coincidence, netizens replied at Lin’s tweet:
“From the same LINeage?”
“Kid has game; no doubt in my mind who his role-model is!”
“Was he named after you? My niece named her son Jeremy after you. He was born 2 years ago.”
“Jeremy Lin wants to be the next Jeremy Lin? Wait he is already Jeremy Lin. I’m confused.”
“The world can’t handle Linsanity 2.0.”
On the same day, the 28-year-old pro hoopster shared a throwback photo on Instagram, recalling earlier days:
“#tbt to when i was a young hooper w nothing under my name but big dreams, a supporting family and a faithful Father #nbasummerleague #hellatanthough”
It’s unclear if NBA’s Lin and the Lin 2.0 would meet in the future, but that’s something we wouldn’t want to miss!
