Jay Chou, also known as the “King of Mandopop,” said he is “shocked” after discovering his 4-year-old son drawing musical notes.
In an Instagram video posted to Chou’s account on Wednesday, 4-year-old Romeo is seen drawing a series of musical notes on paper with a red colored pencil. Chou then asked his son if he had “a melody in your mind.”
Chou, 43, explained in his post’s caption that while he was playing the piano, his wife, 28-year-old Hannah Quinlivan, suddenly called him over to witness Romeo drawing musical notes.
“Do you guys believe in past life?” Chou wrote along with “#mozart” and “#chopin.” “I was playing the piano when Hannah asked me to come over. To be honest, I was really shocked when I saw Romeo drawing these quietly in the room.”
The singer-songwriter has another 6-year-old daughter named Hathaway and is currently expecting his third child with his model-actress wife.
The musician and entertainment multi-hyphenate last released a song in 2020, the Cuban-themed “Mojito,” which resulted in Tencent Music servers crashing upon its release as Chinese fans rushed to buy the single.
