Japanese Man Found Dead Buried Under 6 Tons of Porn

A 50-year-old man in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture died partly buried under clippings of pornographic magazines, his whole collection of which weighed six metric tons (13,228 pounds).
The man, identified by RocketNews24 as Joji, was found a month after his death. He reportedly suffered a heart attack.
Joji lived in a two-bedroom apartment. At the time of his death, a massive haul of erotic literature was found by workers who clean homes of the deceased. Clippings were scattered throughout the place.
Apparently, Joji’s porn collection served two functions following his death. First, they absorbed fluids from his decomposing cadaver, which protected the floor and saved workers from tedious labor.
The magazines also prolonged the discovery of Joji’s body. Often, it is through the unpleasant odor of these leaking fluids that dead bodies are found, so with his clippings interfering in the process, it’s not surprising he stayed alone for a bit longer.
It is likely that he was found only after an urgent need for his presence, which could be unpaid bills or the like.
Regardless of the way Joji died, the former employee of an automobile company sure suffered a “lonely death,” also known as “kodokushi.” Records of such are on the rise in Japan.
