Jake Paul was recently charged with criminal trespass and unlawful assembly after he allegedly participated in riots and looting in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The 23-year-old internet personality, brother of Logan Paul, unlawfully entered Scottsdale Fashion Square mall and remained inside the facility while it was closed on May 30, according to ABC15.
He has allegedly been identified in tips and some videos officials received.
This isn’t the first time the Paul brothers have caused controversy. In 2018, Logan Paul received widespread criticism for filming inside Japan’s “suicide forest.”

“Our investigation has revealed that Paul was present after the protest was declared an unlawful assembly and the rioters were ordered to leave the area by the police,” a statement from Scottsdale police said via The Verge. “Paul also unlawfully entered and remained inside of the mall when it was closed.”
Paul received a summons from the police. Other members of his team who were with him have yet to receive charges.
Paul has denied the charges against him on May 31, BBC reported.
“To be absolutely clear, neither I nor anyone in our group was engaged in any looting or vandalism,” he said in a tweet. “For context, we spent the day doing our part to peacefully protest one of the most horrific injustices our country has ever seen, which led to us being tear-gassed for filming the events and brutality that were unfolding in Arizona.
“We filmed everything we saw in an effort to share our experience and bring more attention to the anger felt in every neighborhood we traveled through; we were strictly documenting, not engaging.”

But on June 4, the social media influencer responded on a post made by ABC15, asking authorities to give him his charges.
“Gimme my charges and let’s put the focus back on George Floyd and Black Lives Matter,” Paul writes.

Court records from Scottsdale show that Paul’s arraignment is set for July 8, according to CNN.
