Jackie Chan Threatens to Kill Off Chris Tucker to Make ‘Rush Hour 4’ if He Has To
Jackie Chan has announced that he is extremely eager to make “Rush Hour 4” — so much so, that if Chris Tucker doesn’t agree to it, he’ll kill off his character.
Chan joked about his potential plans for the movie on the Today show, wherein he discussed his upcoming release, “The Foreigner”.
“If you’re not going to do it, the beginning of the movie: funeral, he died,” Chan said. “His son take over.”
Previously, Chan had teased the plans for the next installment of the beloved buddy cop franchise, stating that he had been turning down scripts for years.
“For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script,” he explained in an interview with Power 106’s “The Cruz Show”. “Yesterday, we just agreed.”
Chan asserted that delaying the film had nothing to do with money. “It’s not about money! It’s about [having the] time to make. Otherwise, ‘Rush Hour 4’ we’re all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4.'”
Tucker has yet to respond to the news about “Rush Hour 4”; the film is rumored to begin filming in 2018.
