J-Hope to become first Korean headliner for major US music festival main stage at Lollapalooza
BTS member J-Hope is set to headline at Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park, making him the first South Korean artist headliner on the main stage of a major U.S. music festival.
The BTS rapper and dancer will help close out the four-day festival from July 28-31. He and his fellow group members have been keeping busy with an upcoming album, visiting the White House and returning to Korean music stages.
J-Hope’s Big Hit labelmates, the K-pop boy group TXT (Tomorrow X Together), are also set to make their U.S. festival debut at Lollapalooza. The five-member group will perform on July 30.
TXT’s most recent comeback was the EP “Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child,” which was released last month with the title track “Good Boy Gone Bad.”
“I’m happy to welcome J-Hope and Tomorrow x Together into the Lollapalooza family,” Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said. “These artists have been given great gifts in communication. Their global audience speak different languages but possess an intense passion for their music. Lolla is the place where all music genres live in harmony. These are the superstars of the global phenomenon of K-Pop, and we are so excited to have them at this year’s festival.”
