Itzy is making waves in their comeback as “Born to Be” tops global iTunes album charts.
About the album: Itzy dropped “Born to Be,” their highly anticipated third studio album, on Monday. The next morning, the 10-track record shot to the No. 1 spot on iTunes’ Top Albums chart in 23 regions, including Australia, Brazil, France, Thailand and the U.S.
The music video for the main track, “Untouchable,” has amassed over 3.7 million views on YouTube and became the platform’s No. 1 worldwide trending music video on the day of its release. The song also entered South Korea’s Melon Top 100 and Hot 100 charts.
What fans are saying: Itzy is coming back as a quartet — with Ryujin, Yuna, Yeji and Chaeryeong — as Lia remains on hiatus due to health reasons. The K-pop group’s fans, affectionately known as Midzy, took delight in their return.
One fan wrote on X, “No one makes a pop record like Itzy in K-pop. It had to be said.”
Another fan, referring to the “Untouchable” music video, wrote “Don’t know many groups that can pull off concepts like this and eat as bad as Itzy did.”
One fan celebrated how Itzy was “getting praised left and right,” adding, “and now we debuted on melon for the 1st hour ITS BEEN SO LONG.”
What’s next: Itzy will begin their world tour, which will include 16 cities and 20 concerts, next month. Lia will also be absent.
