A huge fleet of fish market vendors in turret trucks have been spotted migrating to Toyosu, Tokyo after the famous Tsukiji fish market closed down for good after 83 years of business in the area.
The huge march happened at around 4 a.m. on Sunday when the market vendors left the iconic Tsukiji Market on their turret trucks for Toyosu.
It took each fleet of vendors approximately 10 minutes to travel the 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) distance across the bridge that goes over the Sumidagawa river to get to their new location, according to SoraNews24.
Many nearby locals and photographers woke up early just to watch this impromptu parade of fish vendors as they relocated to the new facility.
The move continued past sunrise, according to reports.
It was estimated that around 2,600 turret trucks and forklifts are expected to make the move from Tsukiji to Toyosu while 5,300 two-tonne trucks will also carry the equipment from the original facility to the newly built one.
The memorable move even managed to catch the attention of local media including All-Nippon News (ANN) and Kyodo News.
