Hot Pot Hamburger is Now a Thing in China

Hot pot has now taken the form of a burger in China.
The new Hot Pot Hamburger (火锅汉堡) is the brainchild of Australian Chef Paul Tait, who offers it at his restaurant Light’s Burger in Chongqing.
At first, some might imagine Chef Paul’s latest menu to be buns submerged in stew, but it is actually a real burger.
Speaking to Taobao Food, Chef Paul explains that the burger is called this because it comes with crispy fried lotus root, sesame oil and a special hot pot-flavored sauce.
“On first bite, I thought it tasted a little strange,” one customer said, according to Shanghaiist. “But after a bit, I thought it was pretty good. The meat was good and the burger is quite unique.”
Some netizens criticized the woman, however, for using a knife and fork to eat her lotus root.
“Using a knife and fork to eat this is just awkward, she could’ve used her bare hands,” one said.
The fuss over appropriate utensils brings a controversial Burger King ad back to memory, in which the burger giant had models eat its products with chopsticks.
