Hong Kong action star Andy Lau, star of “Infernal Affairs” and the Hollywood flick “The Great Wall”, was reportedly injured during a film shooting in Thailand.
The 55-year-old actor fell off a horse as he was filming a scene for a commercial on Tuesday, Apple Daily reported (via AsiaOne).
He was riding the horse in Khao Lak in Takua Pa District when it threw him off unexpectedly and then stomped on him. Lau, who was unable to move after the accident, was immediately rushed to a hospital. He reportedly sustained a pelvic laceration but has undergone immediate treatment.
He was then transferred to a hospital in Hong Kong.
While earlier reports indicated that Lau suffered serious spinal fractures, a statement issued by Lau’s company Focus Artistes said that the actor is now fine and “is currently being looked after by medical professionals”.
The firm also thanked everyone for the concern and assured Lao’s fans that there is no reason to be worried.
Andy Lau, one of Hong Kong’s most well-known superstars, has been featured in over 140 local and international films including, Wong Kar-wai’s “Days of Being Wild”, “The House of Flying Daggers”, the “Detective Dee” historical fantasies, and “The Warlords”.
