Henry Golding’s ‘Mom’ Does Not Approve of James Corden in This Hilarious ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Sketch

English show host James Corden had to go the extra mile to get the approval of Henry Golding’s “mother,” Michelle Yeoh, while playing her role as the super strict mom Eleanor Young for an interview on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
In the hilarious “Crazy Rich Asians” sketch, Corden discovered that there is a problem in his interview with the 31-year-old actor.
It turns out that the show’s host still has to gain his mother’s approval to go with the interview.
“Don’t you worry about that,” whispers Corden to the celebrity, “Don’t you worry your perfect chiseled, flawless face, okay?”
“I love moms, and moms love me, alright?”
And so Corden devised a few ways to get Yeoh to like him and earn her approval. The first he came up with is a simple gift – or, well… bribery – combined with a few sweet words on how young she looks.
After that failed, he decided to invite them to do a fun activity where they make dumplings. But that, too, failed miserably.
Realizing that the dumpling activity did not work, Corden plotted another plan, and this time, they all played mahjong. However, just like the previous tries, this one backfired when he actually beat her in the game.
The sketch finally reaches its climax when Corden confronted Yeoh.
“Look, I know you don’t think I’m good enough for Henry, and you’re probably right,” he told Yeoh. “But one day, he’s going to be on another late night talk show and I want you to remember this, and think of me and everything I’ve sacrificed, because if I can’t have him as a guest of my show, then I don’t want any guest on my show if I quit.”
Of course a good drama wouldn’t be complete without the epic chase scene between the two protagonists.
And after that speech that Corden gave to Yeoh, she finally let him have his interview with Golding.
As for the two, they ended the sketch in a very awkward hug.
