4 ex-LOONA members sign with agency founded by group’s former creative director
Former LOONA members Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry have signed exclusive contracts with Modhaus, a South Korean entertainment agency founded and led by Jaden Jeong, LOONA’s former creative director.
On March 17, 2023, we signed an exclusive contract with former LOONA members Jeon HeeJin, Kim JungEun, Jung JinSol, and Choi YeRim. Modhaus wishes them all the best of luck on their new beginnings, and we promise to give them our full support so that they can create more cherished memories with their fans. We ask for your continued support and love for Jeon HeeJin, Kim JungEun, Jung JinSol, Choi YeRim and Modhaus. Thank you.
The press release notably uses the birth names of Kim Jung-eun and Choi Ye-rim instead of referring to them by their LOONA stage names, Kim Lip and Choerry, respectively.
Modhaus is also the agency behind K-pop girl group tripleS, which has debuted around half of their 24 members as of Feb. 13 with their EP “Assemble,” led by the title track “rising.”
Jeong, who was LOONA’s creative director from 2016 to 2019, has also worked for several major K-pop companies, such as SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment.
In January, some former LOONA members were successful in obtaining court orders to end their contracts with LOONA’s management company, Blockberry Creative.
However, court injunctions filed by Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Gowon and Olivia Hye were not granted.
In February, Vivi and Hyunjin also filed lawsuits to temporarily suspend their contracts with Blockberry Creative. This means that all 11 members of LOONA have now sought legal action to suspend their contracts with the agency.
The injunctions came after Blockberry Creative ousted LOONA member Chuu and claimed it was due to her “violent language and misuse of power” toward staff, which was met with widespread skepticism from fans and industry professionals.
Chuu has since gone on to start her own agency.
