SM Entertainment has officially unveiled the first stage video of its new female supergroup GOT (Girls On Top) the Beat, performing their debut single “Step Back.”
The video was posted on YouTube on Jan. 1 after the group’s debut concert at SM Town Live 2022: SMCU Express at Kwangya, according to Soompi.
The online concert was made available for free worldwide on several social media platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Twitch and Facebook, as stated in its announcement.
GOT the Beat consists of members from different female K-pop groups, including Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon and Taeyeon and Aespa’s Karina and Winter. K-pop legend BoA is also part of the group.
SM Entertainment’s latest project, while similar to its previous “Avengers”-like K-pop group Super M in concept, will feature a rotating lineup of female artists from the label, Rappler reported. The project was first teased on Dec. 27, 2021.
The label has also released a video of GOT the Beat practicing before their Jan. 1 performance, showing members from different K-pop groups and generations bonding during rehearsals.
