Golden State Warriors’ new entertainment division to release single from Got7’s BamBam, ‘Linsanity’ documentary
The NBA’s Golden State Warriors announced the launch of their entertainment division
Oakland-based rapper and singer Mayzin, who is signed as a lead artist for GSE, will also feature on the upcoming BamBam single slated for release this Friday titled “Wheels Up.”
BamBam recently made history by becoming the first K-pop artist to perform at an NBA halftime show during the Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers game on April 7th.
The K-pop artist showed up a day early to meet some of the NBA players and do a meet-and-greet for some of his biggest fans, some of whom had been awaiting his arrival since early morning to purchase BamBam merchandise and for a glimpse of the Thai K-pop star.
GSE will be spearheaded by the Golden State Warriors’ top legal officer, David Kelly. In an interview with CNBC, Kelly said this is all part of the brand’s efforts to tell “the stories of people that shape culture and move culture.”
“Whether you’re talking about content in the form of games, whether you’re talking about content in the form of music, in the form of films – the ability to generate content that speaks to people will always be central,” Kelly continued.
One of GSE’s film projects includes a documentary from Frank Chi called “38 at the Garden,” focusing on the “Linsanity” impact of former Golden State Warriors player Jeremy Lin during his 2011-2012 season with the New York Knicks.
