Floyd Mayweather Earns $9 Million After Defeating Japanese Kickboxer in 3 Minutes, Sparks Outcry

The American boxing legend earned his $9 million dollars fight money without much fuzz on Monday, sending the local kickboxing star the canvas three times in the first two minutes of their one-sided match.

 

Many boxing fans are expressing criticism towards the American fighter for the event which some are calling “rigged,” reports NZ Herald.

Mayweather’s former opponents, boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and MMA star Conor McGregor, also posted not-so-subtle jabs against Mayweather on social media.

In response to his critics, Mayweather wrote on Instagram: “What if I told you I was making $9,000,000 for 9 minutes of sparring in Tokyo Japan. Would you do the same if you were me? I like to call it a 9-minute walk through.”

During the fight, it was apparent that Mayweather was in his usual confident form from the get-go, moving fluidly in the ring while Nasukawa struggled to land a punch.

When the Japanese fighter landed a hit on Mayweather’s glove, he received a short left hook to the body in return, immediately sending him down.

Mayweather landed another punch that sent Nasuwaka staggering back before dropping on the canvas for a second time.

After just 136 seconds of ring action, the kickboxer’s corner eventually threw in the towel following a third fall.

The exhibition match, organized by the Japanese Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Rizin Fighting Federation, held no effect on the professional records of both fighters.

Nasukawa maintains his unblemished kickboxing record of 27-0, with 23 knockouts, and MMA record of 4-0 despite his loss to Mayweather.

“I want to say thanks to God for the turnout, my team, thank you to Mayweather productions and all the entertainment teams,” Mayweather was quoted as saying in a post-fight interview. “Thank you to the fans you guys have been amazing. It’s all about entertainment. It’s not going on anyone’s record. Tenshin is still one hell of a fighter and one hell of a champion.”
