A Singaporean father has gone viral on TikTok for delivering a tear-jerking speech at his daughter’s wedding.
About the clip: On June 18, TikTok user Kylie Yeo (@spongliee) posted a two-minute video about her father’s speech.
“My dad made me cry at my wedding,” the video’s onscreen text says before clips of Yeo’s father talking to the groom can be seen.
“I’m passing my precious daughter to you,” Yeo’s father says before expressing his wishes for the couple, such as happiness and everlasting love.
“If one day you ever have a change of heart that you don’t love my daughter anymore, please don’t hurt her,” he tells the groom. “Just bring her back to me and give her back to me.”
At the end of the video, Yeo, her father and the groom can be seen crying and drying their eyes with tissue.
“The very first time I saw my Dad cry,” Yeo wrote in the description of her post.
Going viral: Yeo’s TikTok video quickly went viral and now has over 6.3 million views and more than 767,000 likes.
Another TikTok user shared a shortened version of Yeo’s video, receiving over 30 million views and more than 4.6 million likes.
Reactions: Several TikTok users commented on Yeo’s post and shared that her father’s words also made them cry.
“I am bawling. When he said please don’t hurt her, just bring her back to me ugh I lost it. Completely lost,” one user wrote.
“I just recovered crying from the ‘pls dont hurt her’ short clip and now I’ve got the full one. I’m bawling again,” another user said.
“The part that made me cry was the part where he told him that if he doesn’t want her anymore, send her back,” another shared.
