International tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has been announced as the face of Dior’s latest campaign for the Lady 95.22 bag, a reinterpretation of the iconic Lady Dior.
First unveiled at the Dior Autumn-Winter 2022-2023 ready-to-wear show, the Lady 95.22 bag was created as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Lady Dior collection. Its updated name is derived from the year of its creation, 1995, and its reinterpretation last year.
The Lady Dior bag was named after the late Princess Diana, who famously carried the initial iteration of the bag when it was then called the Chouchou. It has been a prominent style in the fashion industry for nearly three decades.
With the contemporary design, Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrated the original bag’s storied roots by “exalting the multiple facets of a plural femininity.” The bag has retained its sophisticated look, with subtly curved silhouettes that make it a bold fashion statement.
The campaign for Lady 95.22 is Raducanu’s latest partnership with the luxury brand since becoming its global ambassador in October 2021.
In the campaign, the 2021 U.S. Open women’s singles champion is captured by the renowned photographer Brigitte Lacombe wearing the Lady 95.22 bag in a latte shade, adorned with ruthenium color “Dior” charms.
The 20-year-old tennis star of Romanian and Chinese descent speaks about her love for tennis, her biggest achievement thus far and what empowerment means to her. She also shares her introduction to fashion was through her mother and her first-ever handbag, which was from Dior.
