The “NERV” (German for “nerve”) Musk is referring to in his post is the command center established in the anime series to combat the antagonist race, Angels. It is also the same special organization that created the Evangelions.
Another fan then asked Musk for his thoughts on Studio Ghibli’s popular movie “Spirited Away.” To perhaps nobody’s surprise at this point, he revealed that he is a fan of the classic movie, and even proclaimed his love for another film from the Japanese studio.
