Evgenia Medvedeva Finally Meets K-Pop Group EXO at the Winter Olympics
By Carl Samson
Russian figure skater and silver medalist Evgenia Medvedeva may not have won a gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics, but her dreams as a K-Pop fangirl definitely became true.
To recap, Medvedeva placed second to teammate Alina Zagitova in the ladies’ singles event with scores of 238.26 and 239.57, respectively.
The Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) also came second to Canada in the team event (66-73).
During the Olympics, Medvedeva — who also loves anime — shared how K-Pop male group EXO inspires her and expressed her wish to see them while she’s still in PyeongChang.
Meanwhile, EXO member Baekhyun reciprocated her hopes, saying that he would love for the group to meet the Olympian.
Fortunately for Medvedeva, EXO performed at the Olympics’ closing ceremony on February 25 and stopped by for a meet-and-greet! The figure skater snagged a photo with the eight-member group and shared it shortly on Instagram:
On Twitter, she also shared a signed copy of the “EXO Planet #3 The EXO’rDIUM dot in Seoul” DVD, which she received from the group previously.
EXO wrote her, “Be careful not to get injured and always be healthy!”
Fellow EXO-Ls are writing how lucky she is:
Congratulations for the silvers and meeting EXO, Medvedeva!
