Canadian-born Hong Kong actor and singer Edison Chen is partnering with Adidas through his streetwear label Clot to bring fans a new collection called “Change The Generation.”
Key details: Chen, 43, and Adidas unveiled their latest collaboration project during Clot’s 20th anniversary celebration at Shanghai Fashion Week, which took place from Oct. 8 to 16. Chen co-founded Clot with Kevin Poon in 2003.
Revealing the news: In an announcement on Oct. 13, Adidas noted that their new collaboration with Chen and Clot will focus on fostering cultural exchange between the East and the West.
The new global partnership and the collections that will result from it, including “Change The Generation,” will “push boundaries and defy the norms with his thought-provoking designs,” the announcement claimed.
“My whole aesthetic, especially in the past few years, has fully transformed,” Chen said in a statement. “I haven’t had the chance to create through that lens yet, which is why this collaboration is exciting and nerve-wracking for me because we’re heading in that direction through this partnership.”
Teasing the collection: In the announcement, Adidas teased that the Clot x Adidas Original “Change The Generation” collection will explore “three distinctly different styles ranging from ultra-lifestyle to formal dress and active/streetwear.”
Besides the Clot x Adidas Originals collaboration, the two companies also introduced a three-way collaboration with Japanese streetwear brand Neighborhood, which is now available. The collaboration was also unveiled during Shanghai Fashion Week.
When to expect it: Fans can expect the new collection to be available in January 2024.
