Everything changed: Kim, 53, will be a series regular along with Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley and Dallas Liu, according to Variety.
- Kim’s character is described as a “ruthlessly driven leader” who “demands that everyone live up to his impossible standards, especially his teenage son, Prince Zuko.”
- The actor teased his Instagram fans on Nov. 3, showing a clip of Ozai accompanied by the caption, “It’s getting hot in here.”
Not his first: Before being cast in the live-action adaptation of “Avatar,” the actor voiced General Fong in an episode of the Nickelodeon animated series in 2016 and its video game adaptation in 2017.
- Kim was also behind the voice of Hiroshi Sato, a mechanical genius who invented the Satomobile, the most prominent form of transportation in Republic City, in the spin-off series “The Legend of Korra.”
- Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the creators of the original animated “Avatar” series, announced in August 2020 that they would no longer be involved in the Netflix live-action adaptation, which was first announced in September 2018.
