Chrissy Teigen Celebrates Her Thai Mom Getting U.S. Citizenship on Twitter
By Carl Samson
Chrissy Teigen’s mother finally became a U.S. citizen.
In a touching video posted on Twitter, her mother, Vilailuck Teigen, is seen reciting the Pledge of Allegiance while carrying her 2-year-old granddaughter, Luna, who waves an American flag.
“YES MOM!! Congrats @pepperthai2!!” the 32-year-old model and author captioned the video.
Vilailuck, who was born and raised in Thailand, is married to Ron Teigen Sr. She currently lives with her daughter’s family in Beverly Hills.
Chrissy’s husband, John Legend, shared the same video and praised his mother-in-law for scoring 100%.
Vilailuck, who goes by the handle @pepperthai2 on Twitter, often appears on her daughter’s social media posts.
Chrissy’s father, who also makes frequent cameos, lives nearby the family.
“He comes by every day and they’re married,” Teigen recently told US Magazine. “It just works for them. It’s a good family life. We’re all very close, very tight–knit.”
Days before the major milestone, Vilailuck shared a picture of herself with Chrissy to celebrate “Cravings: Hunger For More,” her daughter’s second cookbook.
“Congratulations @chrissyteigen so proud of you,” she captioned the photo.
Twitter users congratulated the family:
