$120.3 Million Worth of Fake Beauty Products Seized In China

Police officers in the province of Zhejiang, eastern China, have seized a pool of counterfeit cosmetic products worth 827 million yuan ($120.3 million).

Authorities in the city of Taizhou announced the successful crackdown of over 1,200 items on Wednesday, NetEase reported.

So far, 17 people had been arrested. Of these, 13 cases were transferred to the court by prosecution at the end of January.

The boxes found in production warehouses were labeled with well-known cosmetic brands such as Chanel, Dior, Estee Lauder and Lancome, among others.

China’s list of all things fake has virtually everything, including colleges, fabricated research data, cancer-inducing seasonings and of course, Chinese New Year boyfriends.
