Octopus Fights Chinese Livestreamer After She Tries to Eat it Alive on Camera
By Carl Samson
A Chinese livestreamer found her face writhing in pain as an octopus tried to defend itself against her attempts to eat it alive.
The streamer, known as “Seaside Girl Little Seven,” posted the video of the struggle on Kuaishou, which has since gone viral on Chinese social media.
The 52-second video begins with the woman calmly telling her fans how hard the octopus is sucking.
However, she starts panicking upon realizing that the eight-tentacled creature won’t let go.
The animal, which appears to be a mature giant Pacific octopus, has around 280 adhesive suckers on each tentacle, according to the National Geographic.
Each sucker contains thousands of chemical receptors responsible for touch and taste.
The livestreamer eventually cries in front of the camera, telling her fans, “I can’t remove it!”
The octopus eventually releases but leaves a wound on the woman’s face.
“My face is now disfigured,” she says, vowing to eat the animal in her next video.
“Seaside Girl,” who lives in the coastal city of Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, has dedicated her Kuaishou channel to seafood adventures.
Ironically, she questioned in a previous video why none of her content had gone viral in the two weeks she had joined the platform.
But just as she had wished, her new video is now trending on Chinese social media, though most viewers felt little to no sympathy for her struggle.
Weibo users called her plight for what it is — an instant dose of karma.
“Well deserved.”
“You have amused everyone.”
“She had a taste of what it’s like being eaten.”
“This content is extremely comfortable to watch.”
“Too bad the octopus only ate her massive foundation.”
