Man demands ex-coworkers pay him back for boba tea he ‘treated’ them to

A man in China is being criticized online for telling his former employees to pay him back for bubble tea purchases.
What happened: On Sept. 1, Xiaohongshu user @Shengxiao claimed in a post that her former boss told her and her colleagues to send him a total of 1,500 yuan (approximately $206). He allegedly “treated” them to the popular drink before he left their company.
The woman also claimed that her ex-boss sent a detailed breakdown that showed how much each person owed. She and her colleagues purportedly paid him back despite their disbelief at his request.

Social media reacts: Chinese social media users were quick to comment on what @Shengxiao and her colleagues experienced.
“What a good deal,” one user wrote, according to South China Morning Post. “He bought his colleagues milk tea to win them over, then asked for a refund after he left. This is ridiculous.”
Meanwhile, another user declared that the man’s request was “outrageous.”
