These grass slides in China are taking Instagram users to ‘heaven’

A group of slides built on a meadow in northern China has made their way to Instagram, captivating netizens with the pristine natural beauty their fortunate riders get to experience.
What they’re like: The slides, reportedly 1.2 kilometers (0.75 miles) in length, are made of rails that function with the help of gravity. Visitors board small carts that begin on the elevated part of the grassland and travel up to around 30 seconds until they reach the end.
Where they are: The slides are located in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, a region known for its breathtaking meadows. One travel page on Douyin — China’s version of TikTok — has been sharing videos of people riding the carts under clear blue skies.
What people are saying: A now-viral video reposted on Instagram shows a group of people descending the slides. While some agreed that the cumulus clouds seen on the horizon are fake, others believe the experience of riding the carts must nonetheless be “heavenly.”
“That place is straight outta Studio Ghibli,” one user wrote.
Another commented, “This is what I imagine dog heaven looks like.”
“I would want one lying down so I can look up at the sky and just breathe,” another noted.
