The hashtag #GetWellSoonJimin became a trending topic on Twitter on Monday after fans found out that BTS member Jimin (Park Ji-min) tested positive for COVID-19 and underwent surgery for acute appendicitis.
The 26-year-old K-pop star was rushed to the emergency room over the weekend after experiencing “sudden abdominal pain along with a mild sore throat,” BTS’ management agency BigHit Music announced on Monday, reported CNN
Jimin is now the fourth BTS member who has tested positive for COVID-19. RM, Jin and Suga all tested positive in December, as NextShark previously reported.
According to BigHit Music’s post on online platform Weverse, “Jimin is currently recuperating” at the hospital following the successful procedure. He will also receive “a few days of in-patient treatment for COVID-19 in conjunction with postoperative care.”
BTS fans, collectively known as ARMY, sent the singer their well wishes on Twitter using the hashtag #GetWellSoonJimin, which eventually became the world’s top trending hashtag on Monday. The hashtag #WeLoveYouJimin was also trending that day.
