A Former Spice Girl is Named Top Entrepreneur in Britain
By Alan Van
Britain’s top entrepreneur has been crowned, and it’s none other than … get ready for it … Posh Spice?
Former Spice Girl and current David Beckham wifey Victoria Beckham heads the list of the U.K.’s top 100 entrepreneurs and family businesses put out annually by business magazine Management Today.
What makes the 40-year-old Beckham the No. 1 “business hero,” according to MT, is her Victoria Beckham fashion brand and stores, whose profits have risen nearly 3,000 percent over a five-year period from 1 million pounds (approximately $1.6 million) to 30 million pounds (approximately $48 million). Over the same timespan, Beckham also smashed another indicator of success used for MT’s poll — her staff has ballooned from 3 to 100.
The fashionista’s top ranking on the list is especially remarkable considering that she is only 1 of 15 females included on the list. Most impressive of all, however, is the fact that MT hasn’t yet corrected the glaring typo of “Victoria Beckham” to read “Richard Branson” or “James Dyson.”
Take a Snapchat of yourself right now: that reaction you get when you realize Kim Kardashian and Posh Spice are the two of the most lauded entrepreneurial minds in the world.
