Blackpink’s Lisa makes her runway debut for Hedi Slimane’s Celine after recovering from COVID-19
Lisa of Blackpink made her runway debut for Celine in a video.
Runway appearance: Shortly after becoming the new face of Celine’s “Haute Parfumerie,” Lalisa Manobal, better known as Lisa, made her virtual runway debut in a video for Celine’s women’s Summer 2022 collection, WWD reported.
- Lisa was featured in the accompanying fashion film “Baie Des Anges” by Hedi Slimane, the Celine’s creative director. The film, which was livestreamed on social media and on the labels website, includes black and white close-up shots of Lisa’s short haircut and bangs before she steps out and walks across the rooftop of the Nice Observatory in France.
- The collection showcased casual glamor with models in oversized hoodies, bottoms, blazers, bomber jackets and trench coats. The K-pop icon donned a green varsity jacket with the words “Celine Paris.” She paired it with denim jeans, a white crop top, sneakers, light blue sunglasses and a yellow shoulder bag.
- Lisa also shared the clip of herself in the film on her official Instagram account with the hashtags, “#BAIEDESANGES #CELINEBYHEDISLIMANE.”
- In a previous interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Lisa stated, “I admire and respect all the global brands with a long history. Amongst all, witnessing how Hedi took over Celine and brought bold changes was the most impressive thing for me. The overall style of Celine has become younger, fresh and easy even for those who are new in fashion.”
Lisa’s recovery: Lisa was recently released from quarantine on Dec. 4, following her recovery from COVID-19, according to YG Entertainment’s official statement via Allkpop.
- “We would like to inform you that BLACKPINK member Lisa has fully recovered from COVID-19,” the statement read. “Lisa, who received treatments from home, was released from self-quarantine at 12PM KST today (December 4), following the decision of health authorities that she was no longer a concern for spreading COVID-19.”
- YG also reassured the public about the wellbeing of Blackpink’s other members: “BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Rosé, and Jennie were classified as actively monitored individuals who did not need to self-quarantine because more than one week had passed since their vaccinations. Nevertheless, the three members minimized their nonwork-related activities.”
- Lisa marked her return on Instagram by sharing photos of herself sporting an all-black outfit and a red scarf during her visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
- “We are grateful to the fans who sent in their concerns, and the medical staff who are dedicated to overcoming COVID-19. Thank you for encouraging BLACKPINK to return healthily again,” YG concluded. “Looking forward, we will prioritize the health and safety of our artists and employees, and thoroughly comply with the health authorities’ guidelines.”
