BLACKPINK’s upcoming mobile game will allow players to manage, style the K-pop group
YG Entertainment has announced that BLACKPINK’s first mobile game, “BLACKPINK The Game,” is coming soon.
Takeone Company, the company behind BTS‘ mobile game “BTS World,” is lending its expertise to develop BLACKPINK‘s simulation game, which will allow players to act as a manager and producer of the popular K-pop girl group.
Gameplay will consist of mini-games, puzzle quests, managerial tasks, in-game photocards and the ability to style each member of the K-pop girl group. Players will also have the chance to interact with other players.
“Players will witness the never-seen-before sides of Blackpink in a variety of ways. We hope all fans around the world will be able to enjoy the game,” YG Entertainment said in a press release.
BLACKPINK will reportedly release an original soundtrack and music video for the game, along with other surprise content. Fans can now pre-register for the game, expected to release in the second quarter of 2023, on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
This is not BLACKPINK’s first foray into gaming.
The K-pop girl group has previously collaborated with games such as “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,” for which they held a virtual concert last year. They also dropped a single, “Ready for Love,” and a music video for the mobile game.
Jisoo, the oldest member of BLACKPINK, is an avid gamer and was notably named an ambassador of the online role-playing game “Maple Story” last year.
BLACKPINK are currently on their “Born Pink” world tour and will make history as the first K-pop artists to headline Coachella later this month.
