South Korean singer-songwriter BIBI has stepped down from her planned K-drama debut in Season 2 of Netflix’s “Sweet Home.”
BIBI’s role in the webtoon-based adaptation was confirmed earlier this month. However, a scheduling conflict has forced her to back out of production.
BIBI was confirmed to star in ‘Sweet Home 2’ and was preparing [for her role], but she canceled her appearance due to timing issues including the filming schedule. Currently, another actress has taken on the role and is filming,” a Netflix representative commented, per Soompi
It is still unknown what BIBI’s exact role in the drama would have been. Back in June, the show was renewed for a second and third season with several cast members — including Song Kang, Go Min-si, Lee Jin-wook, Lee Si-young and Park Gyu-young — slated to return. The upcoming seasons will reportedly see new cast members such as Kim Moo-yeol, Oh Jung-se, Yoo Oh-seong and Jung Jin-young, a former member of the K-pop boy group B1A4.
The Feel Ghood Music artist has plenty on her plate right now, including prepping to drop her prerelease single “Animal Farm” next week for her birthday on Sep. 27 and her debut 12-track studio album “Noir: The Lowlife Princess” in October. She teased the album’s title to NextShark in an interview last month, saying, “If I were to define this album’s genre in one word, it would be ‘noir.’ You’ll see me dive into different concepts and styles in my upcoming album 100 percent.”
Earlier this week, BIBI was announced as part of the lineup for the Head In The Clouds Jakarta music festival in December. She will be joined by the likes of NIKI, Rich Brian, JOJI, (G)I-DLE and MILLI, to name a few. BIBI previously performed at the Head In The Clouds festival in Los Angeles back in August.
