Baby Chanco was just four months old in May last year when she first captivated netizens worldwide with her gorgeous, flowing hair.
At the time, it was reported that Chanco was born with a full head of hair on Dec. 23, 2017. Now a year old, the Japanese baby girl is a shampoo model, recently becoming the face of a new Pantene ad campaign in Japan.

When Chanco’s mother, Mami Kano, first uploaded images of her daughter’s impressive locks on Instagram, social media users became immediately enamored with the infant. In just a few months, the account, called Baby Chanco’s “hair diary,” accumulated hundreds of thousands of followers.
In an interview with People on Tuesday, Mami Kano revealed that she didn’t expect her daughter would get such a reaction from netizens.
“I’m so surprised with the reaction, but also very proud of the praise from many countries,” Kano was quoted as saying.
She also shared that Chanco possesses a “lighthearted smile and luxurious head of hair [that] doesn’t match her age.”
According to Mami Kano, she keeps the young social media star’s hair looking great by: “Brushing and just let her live as she is.”
She added that she intends “to keep her hair long, and in the future, I want to try some new arrangements, like braids.”
Pantene’s new ad on Monday featured Chanco alongside Japanese television announcer Sato Kondo, who is admired in Japan for her natural gray hair.
