Korean-Australian K-pop star Kevin Kim was named 2018’s Cosmopolitan and Tinder Bachelor of the Year in Sydney on Thursday night, making him the first Asian to ever be awarded the title.

The 29-year-old singer beat out 30 other men including “Home And Away” star Orpheus Pledger, Knafeh Bakery owner Joey El-Issa, former “The Bachelorette” contestant Michael Turnbull and rugby sevens plater Tim Anstee, according to SBS.

Kim, who migrated to Australia from South Korea with his family in 1997, was shocked to win the $5,000 cash prize.

“You look incredibly surprised!” said one of the event’s hosts.

“I didn’t expect this at all,” replied Kim. “What’s going on here? This is not a dream?”

“I never thought I’d even be nominated let alone win,” he told Cosmo shortly after the win. “I’m the first Asian to take home the title so that’s pretty cool. I feel proud to be representing and really humbled by all the support from people who voted.”

Kim, who says he is “passionate, optimistic and outgoing,” described the girl of his dreams as having “a beautiful smile, humor and a positive outlook on life.”

Kim is the lead singer of K-pop band ZE:A, which released the hit album “Nativity” in 2010. He is now the host of the new “Live With Kevin Kim” show on SBS PopAsia.

“Bachelor of the Year is all about celebrating men in Australia who have different careers, passions and life stories,” said Cosmopolitan editor Keshnee Kemp. “It’s a tough job to narrow the nominees down to one, but our readers have voted and we are very excited to be revealing the country’s most eligible Bachelor.”
