Taiwanese Couple Creates Awesome Cardboard Cat Forts That Cats Go Crazy For
By Bryan Ke
An architect couple has started a company that sells cardboard box cat forts that you can freely assemble into anything your fuzzy friend would like.
The idea to start A Cat Thing, a Taiwan-based brand for cats, began when the couple met their adopted brother and sister cats, Chacha and Lily.
They adopted the feline siblings from a shelter in Taichung, Taiwan, and brought them back to their home in Taipei, the couple wrote on their official website. Unfortunately, Lily wasn’t able to adjust immediately to her new surroundings – she refused to eat anything for three days following her arrival to her new home.
The couple asked around for any help, and one of their friends suggested to give the cats a cardboard box. Surprisingly, the plan worked perfectly, as Lily quickly went inside the box and began eating her food an hour later.
“Since then, our family has an everlasting bond with cardboard boxes,” the duo said on their website.
The products that they offer come in various shapes and sizes, giving you total control on what you can build for your cats.
It’s pretty much like a LEGO set for cat lovers; for example, you can make a small house for your cats, such as this one:
Or a moderately-sized home for your pet.
You can even create eccentric houses and let your imagination run wild.
As for the materials, Bored Panda reported that the couple used completely recyclable and non-toxic substances for the cardboard boxes. As a bonus, you won’t have to use tools, as it already comes with fittings.
Prices start at 280 New Taiwan Dollars ($9.56), and can go up to 350 New Taiwan Dollars ($11.96). Check out their product page for more information.
