OnlyFans, a subscription social media platform based in London, announced the appointment of Amrapali “Ami” Gan as chief executive.
OnlyFans founder and CEO Tim Stokely has stepped down from his role after five years of leading the company to pursue “new endeavors,” according to a press release. He will continue his role as an advisor to aid in the company’s transition.
Stokely will be replaced by Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Amrapali “Ami” Gan.
Gan, 36, joined OnlyFans in 2020 and worked “side-by-side with Stokely to grow OnlyFans into the platform it is today.”
Gan joins the 10% of tech company CEOs who are women. She is also part of the growing number of Indian-born tech CEOs around the world.
“Ami has a deep passion for OnlyFans’ business and I’m passing the baton to a friend and colleague who has the vision and drive to help the organisation reach its tremendous potential,” Stokely said. “OnlyFans is still a new company and Ami brings a fresh energy and reflects who we are as a business.”
Prior to joining OnlyFans, Gan worked with Quest Nutrition as the head of brand communications, Red Bull Media House and Cannabis Café.
“I am proud to assume this role. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our creator community to help them maximize control over, and monetise, their content,” Gan said. “I will be leading an exceptionally talented team at OnlyFans that is delivering a unique experience for our creators and fans. By blending state of the art technology with creative capital, we are committed to being the safest social media platform in the world.”
