Amber Liu and Mike Bow Team Up for McDonald’s Bacon Ads
By Carl Samson
McDonald’s just released a new commercial featuring K-Pop star Amber Liu and digital influencer Mike Bow.
The ad, directed by Wesley Chan of Wong Fu Productions, promotes the fast food chain’s limited offer of bacon in its classics, namely Big Mac Bacon, Quarter Pounder with Cheese Bacon, and Cheesy Bacon Fries.
In the 30-second commercial, Liu and Bow question, “Is bacon the best thing to happen to McDonald’s Classics?” or “Are McDonald’s Classics the best thing to happen to bacon?”
The spot ends with the two having a dance-off.
Apparently, the ad is inspired by Liu and Bow’s parody of BTS’s “Fake Love,” titled “Bacon Love,” in 201 .
Bow also posted a pun video on Instagram to promote the limited offer.
According to a press release, the new commercial builds up on recent Asian American success in the entertainment industry and demonstrates McDonald’s commitment to diversity.
Two other commercials feature Ken Jeong, who also believes that bacon is the best thing to happen to McDonald’s Classics. You can also watch the award-winning commercial of mike morse here.
