99 Ranch Worker in Daly City Tests Positive for COVID-19
Popular Asian supermarket 99 Ranch Market released in a statement that one of their employees at their Daly City, California location tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.
The employee’s last day at the store was on April 9 and has since stayed away from the supermarket, according to the statement. It is unclear how the employee contracted the virus.
The statement reads: “All employees who came into contact with the affected employee were notified and sent home to self-quarantine for 14 days.”
It added, “After learning of the employee’s situation, the store closed early on 4/12/2020 and promptly underwent a deep cleaning and disinfection by a third-party professional service.”
A representative at the market told NextShark: “99 Ranch Market is cooperating with all health officials to ensure that any potential infection is contained.”
“We are continuing to implement precautionary measures to keep our employees and customers safe,” they added.
As of this writing, San Mateo County has 701 confirmed cases and California has 23,915 cases of COVID-19, according to the LA Times.
